Good morning! Ardyth here with this week’s Light Bulb Moment!
My card this week is a sparkly, monochrome forest created with some inlaid die cuts.
I started by cutting several strips about 2.5″ x 5.5″. I cut each one using the TreeScape Sugarcut and separating the top from the the bottom. I started with the top of one of the white strips and laid the light grey die cut into it. I taped each layer in place so that my focal panel started to ‘grow’ as I added each strip.
Then I die cut the tree line from the bottom of the focal panel, and inlaid and taped the next white die cut into that. Next, dark grey, then silver sparkle and finally white.
It’s fun to move the die to the left or the right so that your trees overlap. By cutting the original strips 5.5″ long, you have some flexibility in where you place the new strip.
Sounds a little confusing, doesn’t it? It’s really not too difficult, although it can get a little fiddly making sure that everything is lined up properly.
Here’s a video. But please ask any questions you have and I will answer. I think this would be so pretty in different colours. Or you could have one strip that uses the other die in the set – the possibilities are endless!
I finished with a sentiment from the new Flurry of Warm Wishes set – I just love that hand-written font!
