As some of you may know, “SugarPea” is my daughter, Brooke’s nickname. And today also just so happens to be her 9th birthday, so I created this card for her.
I have had so many favorite stamp and SugarCut die sets over the last three years, that I must have spent 2 hours just trying to decide which ones I wanted to create with for this hop. I ended up going with a little bit of new and old, which thrilled my heart to see just how beautifully everything worked together seamlessly.
Since I was using so many different elements on my card I didn’t want the overall design to look visually cluttered, so I opted to use vellum when cutting with the SugarCut – Celebrate and Party Banner Duo dies. I’ve used a Zig Zag Stitched Circle to create a panel that I then sponged with Broken China Distress Ink and layered over two different patterned papers (sneak peek at our upcoming April release). I used the no-line coloring technique with my image from Chunky Monkey using Prismacolor pencils and then cut it out with the coordinating SugarCut die.
I added a trio of balloons for my monkey to hold and falling confetti which were all created using SugarCut – Birthday Journal Card. My sentiment, from Celebrate All The Things was stamped directly onto the white cardstock base.
Now, take a look at this list of insanely talented designers, how lucky are we?!?!
And don’t forget, once you have completed the hop, we’d love it if you’d keep the celebration going by creating a Birthday card or project and linking it up down below for a chance to WIN a Mini MISTI and Creative Corners Tool.
